Mr Hawken qualified from Southampton University in 1997, and having worked in New Zealand and taught anatomy at Oxford University, He did his surgical training in the South West Peninsula region. He passed the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exam in 2009, and underwent a 1 year Reconstructive Arthroscopy/Sports Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada, working with the Joint Preservation Unit of British Columbia. Mr Hawken was appointed as an NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with sub-specialty interest in Shoulder and Elbow at Torbay Hospital in 2011. Mr Hawken takes pride on ensuring my patients are fully informed and involved in their treatment, discussing the risks and benefits of all non-surgical and surgical options with shared decision making.
