He passed the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exam in 2009, and underwent a 1 year Reconstructive Arthroscopy/Sports Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada, working with the Joint Preservation Unit of British Columbia. Mr Hawken was appointed as an NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with sub-specialty interest in Shoulder and Elbow at Torbay Hospital in 2011.
