Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapy centre in Cornwall is a well established team
based centre situated in the Duchy Hospital offering outpatient and
sports injury services.
The hospital opened in 1981 and a new modern Physiotherapy
department was built and opened in 1995. Our team consists of three
out-patient physiotherapists, five in-patient physiotherapists, a
physiotherapist with special interest in Women's health, an
administration assistant and a physiotherapy helper.
How can physiotherapy help?
Physiotherapists help and treat people of all ages with physical
problems caused by illness, accident or ageing.
Physiotherapists identify and maximise movement potential
through health promotion, preventive healthcare, treatment and
rehabilitation and occupational therapy. The core skills used by
physiotherapists include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and
the application of electro-physical modalities, e.g.
ultrasound.
