POST MENOPAUSE WELL WOMAN SCREEN

Menopause is by its nature a change. After periods stop it is likely that other health problems may come to the fore. Heart disease and stroke, osteoporosis and cancer become more common and troublesome. With an average menopausal age of 52 women can typically expect to live for a further 30 years and would prefer to be fit and active. It can be worth checking that you are in good shape or whether you have risks that you can reduce by lifestyle changes or medical intervention.

The Post Menopause Well Woman screen consists of a number of medical investigations followed by a relaxed and in depth discussion with one of our female doctors.  The package requires two visits to the hospital. The first visit for tests will last approximately 30 minutes.  At the second visit you will have approximately 1 hour with the doctor. This will offer the opportunity for you to look at the results of the tests and discuss these in detail.

This screen is focussed on general health. It does not allow time to provide detailed advice regarding management of the menopause. This is a separate service available at the hospital.
