Menopause is by its nature a change. After periods stop it is likely that other health problems may come to the fore. Heart disease and stroke, osteoporosis and cancer become more common and troublesome. With an average menopausal age of 52 women can typically expect to live for a further 30 years and would prefer to be fit and active. It can be worth checking that you are in good shape or whether you have risks that you can reduce by lifestyle changes or medical intervention.
