What our patients say

  • I would recommend the Duchy hospital. I had excellent care for my varicose veins from Mr Windhaber. He is an excellent doctor. He was kind, caring as very thorough and exceeded all my expectations. All other staff including nurses and receptionists were efficient and pleasant, kind and caring. Well done Duchy hospital for your excellent service.

  • My surgeon was wonderful and did a terrific job on my hip. Nursing care consisted of looking at machines and making notes. No words or gestures of comfort. I was given opiates when I had requested none as they badly affect me. The result I woke up in the middle of the night (hours after the operation) alone and cold and the nurse only appeared when all my machines started beeping - but still not a word; or would you like a drink!!! I could only eat a few mouthfuls of food I felt so sick but it didn't bother any of the staff.

  • The Reception houses a sitting area with a cafe, which was welcoming. The Receptionist was efficient and friendly and gave clear directions as to where I should sit, with an explanation of what would happen during my visit Mr Norton’s assistant came to meet me and was friendly and put me at ease. My impression was the hospital was efficient and well run, but most of all clean, welcoming exuding a sense of peace and calm.

  • personally I think all the work you guys do isn’t appreciated enough and I especially think that the nurses and odp’s don’t get paid enough for the time and effort and not to mention the amazing skill I hope someone higher up sees this and really does up your pay you lot deserve it.

  • I approached Duchy hospital for an appointment regarding a knee issue. Within three weeks I’d seen Mr Lee, a fantastic Surgeon, had an MRI and had my surgery. Mr Lee’s administration services are exceptionally well organised, with nothing being too much trouble. Every member of staff within Duchy was fantastic, the radiographers, the nursing team, the physios and the theatre team were all professional, knowledgeable but also wonderfully warm and friendly. All non-clinical staff were equally attentive with nothing being too much trouble, no question left unanswered and the catering team providing a wonderful choice of food to meet every need. Thank you Duchy for providing ease of service, care and comfort within a safe environment, a wonderful team.
